LGRD minister hopes to further enhance development ties with Japan

The minister expressed the hope when Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Saida Shinichi made a courtesy call on him at his ministry office in the secretariat here.

During the call on, the LGRD and Cooperatives Minister highlighted the progress of different development projects run by the ministry. At the same time, the minister also expressed his gratitude to the government and the peoples of Japan for its continuous support to the development activities of Bangladesh since the independence.

Khan said Japan is an important long time partner in the process of the development of Bangladesh, stating that the cooperation of Japan in different development activities has put an important contribution in the socio-economic development of Bangladesh after the independence.

“The relations between the two countries will further advance in the future through the mutual cooperation”, the minister added.

During the meeting, they discussed issues such as water supply, waste management and different aspects for constructing sustainable society along with different development projects implementing by the participation and cooperation of Japan.

They also exchanged views on the scopes of future cooperation in these fields. Even the meeting has discussed on various mutual interests including strengthening the democratic institutes.

Local Government Division Secretary M Shahidul Hasan, first secretary of Japan Embassy in Dhaka KOMINE Ken, second secretary of Japan Embassy Hana Soma, director general of Monitoring, Inspection and Evaluation wing Shibir Bichitra Barua and senior ministry officials, among others, attended the meeting, reports BSS.
