Foreign Adviser Seeks Turkish Support on Rohingya Crisis

Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain today urged Turkey to maintain its active role in keeping the Rohingya crisis on the global agenda and to continue advocating for a resolution to the longstanding issue.

The appeal came during a meeting at the foreign ministry with a Turkish delegation led by Ambassador Korhan Karakoc, Director General for Humanitarian and Technical Assistance at Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to a press release, the delegation is in Bangladesh to coordinate Turkish humanitarian aid for flood-affected communities.

Turkish Ambassador to Bangladesh Ramis Sen also accompanied the delegation.

During the meeting, the Turkish delegation reaffirmed their government's unwavering support for the Rohingyas and provided updates on the activities of the Turkish Hospital located within the Rohingya refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar.

The delegation requested Bangladesh's assistance to enhance the quality of services offered by the hospital. In response, Adviser Hossain assured them of the government's continued cooperation to support the hospital's operations at the camps.

The Turkish representatives also briefed Hossain on their ongoing initiatives to assist flood-affected communities in Bangladesh.

Hossain expressed his gratitude to the Turkish government for its generous humanitarian assistance to those impacted by the floods.

Ambassador Karakoc also extended his congratulations to Hossain on his appointment as the Foreign Affairs Adviser for Bangladesh’s interim government.
