Dhaka, Thimphu Reaffirm Commitment to Bilateral Engagement

Bangladesh and Bhutan have reaffirmed their commitment to fostering continued bilateral engagement, cooperation, and

collaboration for fulfilling the shared aspirations of peoples of both the friendly nations.
 
The pledge was made when Bhutanese ambassador to Bangladesh Rinchen Kuentsyl paid a courtesy call on Foreign Affairs adviser Md Touhid Hossain at the foreign ministry here, said a press release.
 
During the meeting, Hossain noted that Bangladesh and Bhutan enjoy excellent
bilateral relations, which is based on shared history, geographical proximity, and mutual respect.
 
He highlighted the excellent people-to-people level contacts between the two countries.
 
Ambassador Kuentsyl underscored that Bangladesh is an important trade partner of Bhutan.
 
He also emphasized the importance of human resource development and thanked the Government of Bangladesh for hosting a good number of Bhutanese students particularly in medical education, reports BSS.
