Interim Foreign Affairs Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain met with India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on September 23 in New York, coinciding with the United Nations General Assembly.

The discussions focused on issues of mutual interest, reflecting the ongoing dialogue between Dhaka and Delhi. Bangladesh's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the meeting via social media, highlighting the importance of this engagement.

This meeting is significant as it marks the first high-level interaction since the establishment of the interim government in Bangladesh following the Sheikh Hasina administration's fall on August 5. The relationship between the two countries has faced tensions in the wake of recent political changes, making this dialogue crucial for future cooperation.
