Lu Alckmin, wife of Brazil’s Vice President and Chief Adviser Prof Yunus



Lu Alckmin, wife of Brazil’s Vice President Geraldo Alckmin, met with Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus at the COP29 global climate conference on Thursday.


The two leaders engaged in discussions on areas of mutual interest. During the meeting, Lu Alckmin presented Prof. Yunus with a book she authored about the 2006 Nobel Peace Laureate. She shared that her work was inspired by Dr. Yunus' pioneering efforts, noting that she had translated his books and launched social business enterprises as a result.

Dr. Yunus emphasized the importance of strengthening trade and cooperation between Bangladesh and Brazil, South America’s largest economy.

Lamiya Morshed, Senior Secretary and Principal Coordinator of SDG Affairs, was also present at the meeting.
