Metropolitan Police Delegation Meets London CTTC Chief in Dhaka

In a continued effort to strengthen international cooperation in counter-terrorism, a delegation from the Metropolitan Police's Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) in London met with Md. Masud Karim, Chief of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). The meeting, held today at the CTTC office in Dhaka, focused on advancing collaboration and capacity-building in counter-terrorism efforts.


The delegation, led by Simon Jones, Detective Chief Inspector of the CTU, London, was welcomed by the CTTC Chief. During the visit, the delegation toured the Bomb Disposal Unit and the SWAT Team facilities, highlighting the UK's commitment to sharing expertise and resources with Bangladesh.

Simon Jones expressed his commitment to continuing the provision of specialized training for CTTC officers, aimed at enhancing their capabilities to tackle terrorism, cybercrime, and transnational crime more effectively. Both sides emphasized the importance of ongoing cooperation in areas such as counter-terrorism, cybercrime, money laundering, and the prevention of international criminal activities.

The meeting underscored the mutual dedication to fighting global security threats through shared knowledge, training, and joint operations.
