Bangladeshi traders expressed strong interest in importing products such as dates, oranges, and other fruits from Pakistan, particularly to meet the heightened demand during Ramadan. They also see potential in exporting a range of Bangladeshi products to Pakistan.
The meeting was chaired by FBCCI Administrator Md. Hafizur Rahman, who emphasized the significant demand for dates and fruits in Bangladesh, especially during Ramadan, and throughout the year. “Pakistan can be an affordable and reliable source for fruits and agricultural products to meet this demand,” Rahman noted.
Highlighting the growth prospects of bilateral trade, Rahman called for greater cooperation between the two countries' private sectors and stressed the need for a Bangladesh-Pakistan trade agreement to formalize trade relations.
Both sides also underscored the importance of improving logistics, supply chains, cold storage, packaging, and transportation systems to facilitate smoother trade flows and further expand commercial ties.
