Bangladesh and Zambia are exploring new avenues to strengthen bilateral ties and boost trade cooperation. The discussion took place during an inaugural meeting between Percy P. Chanda, the newly appointed Zambian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, and Foreign Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday.

High Commissioner Chanda highlighted Zambia’s interest in importing pharmaceutical products from Bangladesh and invited Bangladesh to consider setting up a pharmaceutical plant in Zambia. He also expressed interest in importing jute and jute products from Bangladesh, while exploring opportunities for Bangladesh to import copper from Zambia.

The two sides also discussed potential collaboration in agriculture and contract farming.

Foreign Adviser Hossain extended his best wishes to High Commissioner Chanda in his new role and assured him of Bangladesh's full support in advancing the bilateral relationship.
