During their meeting, Minister Al Owais expressed his gratitude for Professor Yunus' participation in the prestigious summit, highlighting that his presence had significantly enhanced the event. "We learn from people like you," the UAE minister remarked as they discussed various aspects of the summit.
Al Owais emphasized that the WGS serves as a platform for learning from global leaders, and he extended his appreciation to Professor Yunus for his leadership in Bangladesh during a pivotal time in the country's history. He expressed hope that the Bangladesh-UAE relationship would grow stronger under the Interim Government, particularly in trade, business, and healthcare.
In response, Professor Yunus praised the UAE's advancements in the health sector, particularly in disease prevention. He also thanked the UAE for hosting over a million Bangladeshis, reinforcing the strong ties between the two nations.
The meeting was attended by Touhid Hossain, Foreign Adviser; Lutfey Siddiqi, Special Envoy of the Chief Adviser; and Lamiya Morshed, Senior Secretary and Chief SDGs Coordinator of the Bangladesh government.
