Putin eyes Dhaka-Moscow ties to strengthen regional security, stability

Russian President Vladimir Putin has reaffirmed the long-standing friendship and mutual respect between Bangladesh and Russia, emphasizing the importance of continued productive cooperation for the benefit of both nations.

In a heartfelt message to Bangladesh’s President Mohammed Shahabuddin, President Putin expressed confidence that the bilateral relations would continue to flourish, contributing to both nations' prosperity and the broader stability of the region. He conveyed his well wishes for President Shahabuddin’s health and success, while also extending wishes for peace and prosperity to the people of Bangladesh, as reported by the Russian Embassy in Dhaka.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin also highlighted the enduring partnership between Bangladesh and Russia, underscoring the growth of their ties in various sectors. In a message to Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus, Prime Minister Mishustin noted that bilateral cooperation in trade, economics, science, technology, culture, and humanitarian efforts had steadily strengthened, with numerous ambitious joint projects already making significant progress.

"I am confident that ongoing efforts by both governments will further solidify our multifaceted cooperation, which aligns with the shared interests of both Russia and Bangladesh," Mishustin remarked. He also extended his heartfelt congratulations to Bangladesh on the occasion of its National Day and Independence Day, wishing Prof. Yunus continued success in his leadership role and happiness for the people of Bangladesh.

The strengthened ties between Russia and Bangladesh highlight their mutual commitment to regional stability and the pursuit of common goals in areas ranging from economic development to cultural exchange.
