BD Sends 55-Member Team and Aid to Quake-Hit Myanmar

A 55-member rescue and medical team from Bangladesh arrived in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday afternoon to provide critical humanitarian assistance to those affected by the recent earthquake in Myanmar.

The team, accompanied by 15 metric tons of relief supplies, traveled in two C-130 J aircraft and one CASA C-295W. The aid shipment included 4.2 metric tons of medical supplies, including medicines and medical products, along with tents and dry food.

Bangladesh's Ambassador to Myanmar, M. Monwar Hossain, formally handed over the relief materials to Myanmar's Ambassador at Large, Kyaw Tun, at a ceremony attended by Defence Adviser of the Bangladesh Embassy, Brigadier General Md. Aftab Hossain.

This marks Bangladesh’s second major aid delivery to Myanmar, following the first consignment of 16.5 metric tons of emergency relief sent on March 30 in two flights. The continued support underscores Bangladesh's commitment to assisting its neighbors in times of crisis.
