"A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying the Chief Adviser and his entourage will depart from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 9 a.m. tomorrow," announced Dr. Khalilur Rahman, the Chief Adviser's High Representative on Rohingya and priority issues, during a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy today.
The 2025 BIMSTEC Summit will focus on seven key areas of regional cooperation: Trade, Investment, and Development; Environment and Climate Change; Security; Agriculture and Food Security; People-to-People Contact; Science, Technology, and Innovation; and Connectivity.
Dr. Khalilur Rahman stated that during the summit, the Chief Adviser will engage in bilateral talks with the leaders of BIMSTEC member states. Prof. Yunus will also attend two MoU signing ceremonies.
On April 4, Bangladesh will officially assume the BIMSTEC chairmanship, with Prof. Yunus taking on the role.
The press briefing was also attended by Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam and Deputy Press Secretary Abdul Kalam Azad Majumder.
The BIMSTEC Summit will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, from April 2-4.
