Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh, Yao Wen, emphasized China’s commitment to collaborating with Bangladesh to transform mutual understandings into tangible benefits for both nations, fostering shared prosperity.

He described the recent visit of Bangladesh's Chief Adviser, Prof. Muhammad Yunus, to China as a historic milestone in bilateral relations. Ambassador Yao called the visit both symbolic and substantive, underscoring China's intention to deepen cooperation in areas such as education, healthcare, and people-to-people connections.

During a seminar at North South University on Sunday, Yao reflected on the broader global economic landscape, noting that the China-Bangladesh partnership is built on enduring people-to-people solidarity, rather than political shifts.

The seminar, titled “Reassessing Sino-Bangla Relations: Chief Adviser’s Landmark Visit,” was attended by Dr. Khalilur Rahman, National Security Adviser and High Representative for the Rohingya Issue, along with diplomats, international organizations, and scholars from China and Bangladesh.

Dr. Rahman commended China's role in ensuring the success of Prof. Yunus’ visit and highlighted the positive reception it received across Bangladesh. He assured that the interim government would take concrete steps to implement the outcomes of the visit, strengthening the legacy of China-Bangladesh relations as they mark 50 years of diplomatic ties.

Speakers at the seminar praised the Chief Adviser’s visit, calling it a productive and solution-oriented mission that provided valuable strategies to address Bangladesh's economic challenges. They also noted that the visit has reinvigorated the country’s pursuit of its Sustainable Development Goals, while enhancing the scope of the strategic partnership between China and Bangladesh.
