Bangladesh has expressed deep concern over recent attacks targeting nuclear facilities in the Islamic Republic of Iran, warning that such actions could further destabilise an already volatile region.
“These developments risk aggravating an already fragile situation and pose serious threats to international peace and security,” said a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Calling for de-escalation, Bangladesh urged the United Nations and the broader international community to take active steps to defuse tensions and promote stability in the Middle East.
The statement reaffirmed Bangladesh’s longstanding commitment to resolving conflicts through peaceful means. “Bangladesh reiterates its firm position in favour of dialogue and diplomacy as the preferred approach to resolving international disputes,” it said.
Dhaka also urged all parties involved to exercise maximum restraint and avoid actions that could escalate hostilities.
“Constructive engagement, mutual respect, and adherence to international norms remain the only sustainable path to lasting peace,” the statement concluded.
