Bangladesh on Wednesday conveyed its displeasure to India over a series of interviews given by former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to Indian media outlets.

According to a senior official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the government formally communicated its concern through Indian Deputy High Commissioner in Dhaka, Pawan Badhe.

During the meeting, the Indian diplomat was requested to relay Bangladesh’s position to New Delhi, including its request to restrict Hasina’s access to the Indian media, a diplomatic source said.

In recent weeks, the former premier has also been interviewed by several international news organisations, including AFP, Reuters, and The Independent (UK).
