Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain

Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain said India has not yet given a positive response regarding the repatriation of Sheikh Hasina.

He noted that New Delhi is still reviewing the tribunal’s verdict, while Dhaka awaits an official reaction.

Speaking to the media at Rangpur Circuit House on Friday during a four-day official visit, the adviser also said the Foreign Ministry has no information about the potential return of BNP’s acting chairman, Tarique Rahman.

Touhid Hossain added that Begum Khaleda Zia could not be taken abroad for advanced treatment due to technical issues with the air ambulance arranged for her transport.

He further stated that the interim government hopes to begin work soon on the proposed Chinese-supported hospital in Nilphamari, anticipating that an elected government will oversee its completion.
