Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Imran Haider on Friday paid a courtesy call on BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

The meeting was held at the BNP Chairperson’s Gulshan office at around 4:30pm, said BNP Media Cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan.

BNP central leaders welcomed the Pakistani High Commissioner when he arrived at the Gulshan office at around 4:15 pm.

According to party sources, the two sides discussed a range of issues of mutual interest, including strengthening South Asian regional cooperation, trade and business, and bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Pakistan.

The High Commissioner earlier expressed deep shock over the death of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

On December 30, 2025, he visited the BNP Chairperson’s Gulshan office and signed the condolence book opened there, reports UNB.
