UK Minister Seema Malhotra to Attend Bangladesh Swearing-In

British Minister Seema Malhotra is set to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Bangladesh’s newly elected government later today.

She paid a courtesy visit to Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus at the State Guest House Jamuna on Tuesday. British High Commissioner Sarah Cooke and Senior Secretary for SDG Affairs Lamiya Morshed were also present.

Seema Malhotra was appointed Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State (Minister for Equalities) in the Department for Education on 8 October 2024, and later became Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office on 6 September 2025. She previously served as Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State in the Home Office from October 2024 to September 2025.

She was elected as MP for Feltham and Heston in the July 2024 general election.
