Two killed by lightning in Netrakona

A farmer and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver were killed in separate lightning strikes during rainfall in Sadar upazila of the district on Sunday morning.


The deceased were identified as Jamal Munsi, 55, a farmer from Sapmara village, and Sabuj Mia, 53, a CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver from Kutubpur village under Kailati union.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Netrokona Model Police Station Md Al Mamun Sarker confirmed the incidents, reports BSS.

Deputy Commissioner Khondaker Mushfiqul Rahman told BSS that the district administration had provided Taka 20,000 to each bereaved family to help meet burial expenses and other emergency needs.
