Measles Death Toll Climbs to 745 as Three More Die

Bangladesh's combined death toll from confirmed and suspected measles cases has risen to 745 after three more children with measles symptoms died in the 24 hours until 8:00 am on Tuesday.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the number of suspected measles-related deaths has reached 652, while 93 deaths have been confirmed through laboratory testing.

During the reporting period, 796 new suspected measles cases were recorded, raising the nationwide total to 108,180.

Health authorities also confirmed 106 new laboratory-confirmed infections, bringing the cumulative number of confirmed measles cases to 13,070.

Since 15 March, a total of 91,270 patients with suspected measles have been hospitalised across the country. Of them, 87,628 have recovered, according to the latest DGHS data.
