805 fresh dengue cases, 3 deaths reported in 24hrs

Health officials today said they recorded 805 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least three persons in the past 24 hours.


“During the period, (of the 805) 80 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 82 in Chattogram division, 156 in Dhaka division, 112 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 149 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 97 in Khulna division, 65 in Mymensingh division, 55 in Rajshahi division, seven in Rangpur division and two in Sylhet division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts, Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 70 deaths while the disease inflicted 23,978.

The dengue last year claimed 413 lives and inflicted 1,02,861 people in the country, reports BSS.

Besides, the dengue claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in 2024.
