4 deaths, 1,252 fresh cases reported overnight

Health officials today said they recorded 1,252 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least four persons in the past 24 hours.


"During the period, (of the 1,252) 119 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 194 in Chattogram division, 227 in Dhaka division, 135 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 101 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 247 in Khulna division, 87 in Mymensingh division, 109 in Rajshahi division, 27 in Rangpur division and six in Sylhet division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 111 deaths while the disease inflicted 39,532.

The dengue last year claimed 413 lives and inflicted 1,02,861 people in the country, reports BSS.

Besides, the dengue claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in 2024.
