Dengue death toll rises to 164 as 7 more die in 24hrs

Seven people died of dengue and 1,593 new patients were hospitalised across the country in the 24 hours until 8:00am on Tuesday.


With the latest fatalities, the dengue death toll has risen to 164 in the country this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The new deaths were reported in Barishal, Dhaka, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions, it said.

Since January 1 this year, a total of 55,163 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country, reports UNB.

Of them, 50,941 have been discharged after recovery, according to the DGHS.
