One dies of dengue, 1,163 hospitalised in 24 hrs

One person died of dengue and 1,163 were hospitalised after being infected with dengue in the last 24 hours till 8:00am today, according to a regular report of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).


Of the new hospitalized dengue patients, 420 were in Dhaka Division, 77 in Mymensingh Division, 333 in Chattogram Division, 111 in Khulna Division, 151 in Barishal Division and 71 in Rangpur Division. 

According to the report, a total of 82,761 dengue patients have so far been hospitalized across the country this year. With the one death in the past 24 hours, the death toll from the disease stood at 250 this year.

However, in the last 24 hours, 1,163 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals. This year a total of 76,861 dengue patients have recovered and returned to their home after receiving treatment in hospitals.

A total of 102,861 people were infected with dengue, and 413 people died from the disease last year, reports BSS.
