Rail communication between Dhaka and Chattogram on the down line has resumed after being suspended following the derailment of all four wheels of a trolley belonging to a rescue train in Akhaura here.

Train services returned to normalcy after the derailed trolley was recovered shortly after 7pm today, said Akhaura Railway Station Cabin Master Mainul Haque.

Akhaura Railway's Assistant Executive Engineer Abu Hanif Pasha said a three-member committee, headed by the Akhaura Railway Traffic Inspector, has been formed to investigate the cause of the accident, reports BSS.

The committee has been instructed to submit its investigation report within three working days, he said.
