409 new Dengue patients hospitalised in 24 hrs, no death

Dengue patients admitted to a hospital on Friday



Dhaka, Oct 21 -- Another 409 patients were hospitalised with dengue in 24 hours till Friday morning.

Of the new patients, 304 were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka and 105 outside it, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

A total of 3,207 dengue patients, including 2,182 in the capital, are now receiving treatment at hospitals across the country.

This year’s death toll from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh rose to 110 on Thursday with four more deaths reported from Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions.

The dengue death toll in Dhaka division now stands at 66, in Mymensingh at two while it remained static in Chattogram division at 35, in Khulna at two and in Barishal division at five.

The Directorate has recorded 29,107 dengue cases and 25,790 recoveries so far this year. - UNB
