Bangladesh records zero dengue death after months

Bangladesh recorded zero dengue death in the last 24 hours till Saturday morning, after a few months in the country

According to the daily update of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the death toll from the mosquito-borne disease now stayed at 1,678 this year. 

Meanwhile, 179 dengue patients were hospitalized during the period.

Among the new patients, 51 were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka and 186 outside it.

Some 1,680 dengue patients, including 509in the capital, are now receiving treatment at hospitals across the country.

So far, the DGHS has recorded 3,18,982 dengue cases, and 3,15,624 recoveries this year.

The country logged 281 dengue deaths in 2022 – the highest on record after 179 deaths recorded in 2019. Also, it recorded 62,423 dengue cases and 61,971 recoveries last year.
