Covid deaths in Bangladesh hits 14,000 with 77 fresh fatalities

The death toll from Covid-19 in Bangladesh crossed 14,000 with 77 fresh deaths in the last 24 hours until Saturday morning.



Dhaka, June 26 :  The death toll from Covid-19 in Bangladesh crossed 14,000 with 77 fresh deaths in the last 24 hours until Saturday morning.
The latest deaths took the national tally to 14,053, making it a very painful day for Bangladesh.
The number of fatalities crossed 13,000 on June 11.
The deadly virus claimed 108 lives on Friday, the 2nd highest number in daily deaths since the outbreak of Covid in Bangladesh in March,2020.
Besides, 4,334 new cases pushed up the total caseload to 8,83,138.
However, the positivity rate rose to 22.50 % from 21.22% on Friday, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Meanwhile, the mortality rate remained static at 1.59%, reports UNB.
