Seven Die from Dengue; 1,139 Hospitalized in 24 Hours

In a troubling development, seven dengue patients have died and 1,139 others were hospitalized across the country within the last 24 hours, as reported by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) this morning.


Of the new hospitalizations, 409 occurred in Dhaka city, while 730 were recorded in various hospitals outside the capital. This surge contributes to a staggering total of 52,058 dengue cases reported this year, along with 257 related deaths.

Comparatively, last year saw 1,705 fatalities and a total of 321,179 dengue cases, highlighting a continuing public health crisis. Health officials urge the public to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to combat the spread of this deadly disease.
