Covid-19: Bangladesh records highest 119 deaths

Bangladesh reported highest single-day fatalities of 119 Covid-19 deaths on Sunday.




Dhaka, June 27 :  Bangladesh reported 119 Covid-19 deaths – the country's highest single-day fatalities after reporting its first death on March 18 last year – in the past 24 hours until early Sunday.
On April 19, the country reported 112 Covid-19 deaths.
The new number took the country's overall death toll to 14,172. The mortality rate rose to 1.60% while the recovery rate fell to 90.51%, according to the Directorate General of Health Services.
Also, 5,268 new confirmed cases were reported, taking the total tally to 888,406. The positivity rate stood at 21.59%, reports UNB.
