In the past 24 hours, nine individuals have been hospitalized across the country due to dengue fever, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The breakdown of cases is as follows: three patients were admitted in Barishal Division (outside the city corporation), four in Dhaka South, one in Dhaka North, and one in Mymensingh Division (outside the city corporation), the DGHS reported in a press release.

With these new admissions, the total number of dengue cases this year has now reached 1,715. Additionally, 13 deaths from the disease have been reported in 2025.

For comparison, last year, the country saw a staggering 101,214 dengue cases, with 575 fatalities attributed to the mosquito-borne viral illness.

The DGHS has urged citizens to take necessary precautions to prevent further spread of the disease.
