Two Die, 22 Hospitalized from Dengue in Last 24 Hours

Two more people have died from dengue fever, while 22 new patients were hospitalized across the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Of the newly admitted patients, 10 were reported from Barishal division, two from Chattogram, and four from Dhaka division. In the capital, three patients were admitted in Dhaka North and three more in Dhaka South.

With these new cases, the total number of dengue infections this year has reached 2,074, and the death toll has risen to 16.

In comparison, last year saw a significant spike in dengue cases, with 101,214 infections and 575 deaths, according to DGHS data.
