114 new dengue cases reported in last 24 hrs

Dengue case has been increasing across the country regularly, growing concern over the mosquito-borne disease. 


One hundred and fourteen more new dengue cases were reported in the 24 hours till Tuesday morning, bringing the total number of cases to 4,700 this year.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), new cases were reported as follows: 73 in Barishal Division (Out of CC), three in Chattogram Division (Out of CC), two in Khulna, one in Mymensingh (Out of CC), three in Rajshahi (Out of CC), 14 Dhaka Division (Out of CC), six in Dhaka North City Corporation and 12 in Dhaka South City Corporation.

No new fatalities reported during this period, the DGHS added.

Currently, 411 dengue patients are receiving treatment in hospitals across the country, reports UNB. 

Last year, dengue claimed the lives of 575 people.

According to the DGHS, there were 101,214 dengue cases and 100,040 recoveries in the same year.
