2 die in dengue, 516 hospitalized in 24 hours

Two more people died in dengue in the country in the last 24 hours,    climbing the total number of death toll to 396   this year.


A total of 516 dengue patients have been admitted at different hospitals across the country during this time.

A press release issued by the health emergency operation and control room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said today.

Of the dengue patients, 49 patients have been admitted in the hospital in the last 24 hours under Barishal division, 96 patients under Chattogram and Dhaka division each, 127 admitted under Dhaka North City Corporation, 75 admitted under Dhaka South City Corporation, 6 under Khulna division, 28 patients admitted under Mymensingh division, 31 under Rajshahi division, 5 under Rangpur division and 3 patients under Sylhet division. 

On the other hand, a total of 540 dengue patients have been released from the hospital across the country in the last 24 hours while 95,744 dengue patients have so far been released from the hospitals this year.

A total of 97,829 persons have been infected with dengue disease in the country this, of whom 62.4 percent are male and 37.6 percent are female.

In 2024, a total of 1,01,214 persons have been diagnosed  with dengue disease and the death toll was 575, reports BSS.
