Human chain in Kalapara to protest attack on journalist Tuhin

A human chain was staged in Kalapara on Monday protesting attack on journalist Tuhin.

Patuakhali: A human chain was held in Kalapara, Patuakhali, to protest the attack on senior journalist and Jatiya Press Club member Taifur Rahman Tuhin and his team members and SA TV journalist Saddam by drug dealers and to demand the arrest of the accused. The human chain was organized by Kalapara Press Club, Reporters Unity and Television Journalists Forum at 11 am on Monday at the Press Club premises. Media workers, leaders of social organizations and conscious citizens participated in the human chain.

Journalist leaders in the human chain said that the attack on a journalist while gathering news is not only an attack on Tuhin, it is an attack on independent journalism and expression of opinion. Therefore, they demanded that the attackers be identified immediately and the main drug dealer Shamim be brought under the law and exemplary punishment be given.
