
July Uprising martyrs were honoured on Jully Uprising Day celebrated in Kalapara on Wednesday
Patuakhali: July Uprising Day was celebrated in Kalapara, Patuakhali. On Wednesday at 9 am, ignoring the hostile weather, UNO Md. Arifuzzaman, along with the officials and employees of the upazila administration, paid tribute to the July martyrs by laying flowers at the central Shaheed Minar of the municipal town.
Among others, Kalapara Assistant Commissioner (Land) Yasin Sadek, OC (Investigation) Md. Elias Hossain, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Md. Mokchedul Alam, Assistant Director of Cyclone Preparedness Program Md. Asaduzzaman Khan, Youth Development Officer Md. Julhas-ul-Azad, Food Officer Md. Abu Bakar Siddique, Primary Education Officer Sahida Begum, Upazila BNP President Haji Humayun Sikder, Municipal BNP Secretary Musa Tauhid Nannu Munshi, etc.
Later, leaders of Upazila BNP, various political parties, various educational institutions and socio-cultural organizations offered wreaths.
In addition, after Zohar, special prayers were offered at mosques, temples, churches, pagodas and other religious places of worship, a special feast was held at hospitals and orphanages at noon, a discussion meeting on the significance of July Day was held at the Upazila Parishad auditorium at 3:30 pm, and the families of the martyrs and the injured were given a reception. The Upazila administration informed that the day will be celebrated by organizing essay and recitation competitions on the July Uprising at convenient times in educational institutions and by showing documentary films at Mangal Sukh Model Government Primary School and the helipad field. - Gofran Palash
