Teenager stabbed dead in Mymensingh

A teenager named Shanto Rahman was stabbed dead during Durga idol immersion in Muktagacha of Mymensingh on Wednesday night.



A 17-year teenager named Shanto Rahman was stabbed dead during Durga idol immersion in Muktagacha of Mymensingh on Wednesday night.
He was the son of Muktagacha municipality ward councilor Motiur Rahman and former Upazila Parishad vice-chairman Aziza Rahman.
The incident took place during Durga idol immersion around 8.30pm on the bank of Ayman river.
Inspector of Muktagacha Thana Chand Mia confirmed the news.
Police detained a Sajjat Hossain Shimul, 22, for interrogation.
The incident had no relation with the Durga idol immersion, and it may have a link with a snatching incident. However, police is investigating the matter, said the police officer.
