Police have arrested three persons while fleeing with an auto-rickshaw after stabbing its driver in Madhabpur of Habiganj.



Police have arrested three persons while fleeing with an auto-rickshaw after stabbing its driver in Madhabpur of Habiganj.

They were sent to court on Friday (November 25) afternoon.

Earlier, three people were arrested along with the hijacked auto-rickshaw on Thursday night. The arrestees were known as Samsu Mia (22) of Dakshin Bejura village of Madhabpur, Mannan Mia (22) Itakhola village and Tarek Lashkar (21) of Shimulghar Village. 

According to police, the robbers were going to Shahpur New Bazaar by reserving Abdul Quader’s auto-rickshaw from Shahjibazar gas field junction of the upazila last night. On the way, they stabbed the driver and fled with the auto-rickshaw.

When the injured driver started screaming, the locals came to the spot and reported to the police station. Being informed, the police conducted a raid and arrested three persons. Meanwhile, the stolen auto-rickshaw, two knives and jute rope were recovered from them.

Madhabpur police station officer-in-charge (OC) Abdur Razzak confirmed the matter.
