Woman’s body recovered from litchi garden in Meherpur

Police recovered the body of a woman from a litchi garden at Kulbaria village under sadar upazila of Meherpur district on Saturday.



Police recovered the body of a woman from a litchi garden at Kulbaria village under sadar upazila of Meherpur district on Saturday (December 17) morning.

The deceased was identified as Shahanara Khatun, 40, wife of late Raidul Islam, a resident of Kulbaria village of the upazila.

Officer-in-Charge of Meherpur Sadar Police Station Rafiqul Islam confirmed the matter.

The OC said locals found the body of the woman in a litchi garden in the morning and informed police about the incident.

On information, police recovered the body from the litchi garden and sent it sadar hospital morgue for an autopsy.

OC Rafiqul suspected that Shahanara might have been strangulated to death.
