Coast Guard rescues 21 fishermen from Bay of Bengal

Bangladesh Coast Guard members on Wednesday rescued 21 fishermen who were floating in the Bay of Bengal for seven days as the engine of their trawler broke down.



Bangladesh Coast Guard members on Wednesday rescued 21 fishermen who were floating in the Bay of Bengal for seven days as the engine of their trawler broke down.

Lieutenant Colonel Abdur Rahman, media personnel of coast guard headquarters, said the engine of the trawler named ‘FB Zunayed’ with 21 fishermen went out of order on May 16. 

After receiving the information, the Coast Guard started an operation to rescue them. At one point, the fishermen were rescued unharmed from the deep sea on Wednesday noon.

They have been given first aid and food. All of the rescued fishermen were residents of Monpura of Bhola.
