Cox’s Bazar unit of BNP has called a dawn-to-dusk hartal in the district on Wednesday (November 8), in protest against the death of a bullet-hit leader in Ukhiya.

The district BNP issued a press release in this regard on Tuesday evening.

Jagir Hossain, 38, who received bullet injury in a clash with a Rapid Action Batallion (RAB) patrol team at Jaliapalong in Ukhiya, died while he was undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Tuesday.

Jagir's nephew Shihab Uddin confirmed about his death.

He was the assistant organising secretary of Jaliapalong union of BNP. He was the son of late Md Alam of village Painashi.
