UPDF observes half-day road blockade in Khagrachari, Rangamati
Khagrachhari , May 15 - The United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) observed a half-day roads and waterways blockade in Khagrachari and Rangamati districts today to protest the “conspiracy to repeal” the Chittagong Hill Tracts Regulation, 1900.
Began at 6 am the blockade continued till 12 noon.
Bus and truck movement to and from Khagrachari was stopped due to the blockade. The picketers burnt tree trunks and tyres in different areas including Panchhari, district Sadar, Dighinala of Khagrachari.
UPDF observed the blockade to protest “conspiracies to cancel the Chittagong Hill Tracts Regulation, 1900”.
Earlier on Monday, the blockade program was announced from demonstrations held at different places of Rangamati and Khagrachari.-UNB
