Husband arrested over killing wife in Natore



Natore, June 28 - A man in Natore was arrested for allegedly slaughtering his wife with sharp weapons over a family feud in Bagatipara upazila of Natore early Friday.

RAB arrested Asmat Ali, 55, from Sirajganj's Salanga upazila on Friday noon, said ASP Raihanul Islam, commander of Natore RAB camp.

They also rescued his daughter, ASP added.

Quoting locals and relatives, Bagatipara police station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nannu Khan said, there had long been a dispute between Asmat Ali and his wife Sufia Begum, 35, over family issues.

Early in the morning, husband Asmat Ali slaughtered his wife and left the house with his minor daughter, the OC added.

Later, a case was filed following a complaint lodged by the victim's brother Qurban.-UNB
