Dhaka, July 7 -- A moderate-intensity earthquake struck the Bangladesh capital on Wednesday morning. Mild tremors were also felt in many parts of the country.
The quake measured 5.2 on the Richter Scale and its epicentre was Lakhipur, about 242 km north of Dhaka, said Abdul Hamid of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
Tremors were felt in Dhaka and several parts of the country at 9.15 am, said the official. No casualties or damage to properties have been reported so far. - UNB
