A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) and Economic Reporters’ Forum (ERF) Institute, was signed today at the DCCI auditorium with a view to enhancing bilateral cooperation and jointly conducting research activities.

DCCI President Taskeen Ahmed and ERF President Doulot Akter Mala signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations, said a press release.

Speaking on the occasion, DCCI Senior Vice President Razeev H Chowdhury said that economic reporting by the media plays a vital role in enabling domestic entrepreneurs and policymakers to take effective initiatives to address the evolving economic challenges at both local and global levels.

He expressed hope that the joint initiatives of DCCI and ERF including training programmes, workshops, seminars, research and knowledge-sharing activities would play an effective role in enhancing the skills of journalists covering the economic sector.

ERF President Doulot Akter Mala said that DCCI has long-standing experience and a strong reputation in conducting research activities.

She hoped that the MoU would create opportunities for both organisations to jointly undertake research programmes on Bangladesh’s overall economy, particularly in the areas of trade and investment, contributing to informed policymaking, necessary reforms, and the development of the private sector.

DCCI Secretary General Dr. A K M Asaduzzaman Patwary, ERF General Secretary Abul Kashem, members of the ERF Executive Committee among others were also present on the occasion, reports BSS.
