Economy to Stay Active During Eid Holidays: Finance Adviser
Finance Adviser Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed reassured today that economic activities will continue seamlessly during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, the most significant religious festival for Muslims.
"Most of the advisers will remain in the city during the holidays. Even if some secretaries travel abroad, decision-making will not be hindered. In today’s digital age, decisions can be made remotely, ensuring that the economy remains dynamic even during the Eid vacation," he stated.
Dr. Salehuddin shared these comments after attending meetings of the Advisers Council Committee on Government Purchase (ACCGP) and the Advisers Council Committee on Economic Affairs (ACCEA) at the Cabinet Division conference room in the Secretariat.
Bangladesh is set to observe a 9-day Eid vacation starting tomorrow to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr.
The Finance Adviser also announced that the ACCGP had approved key procurement proposals, including the purchase of two cargo shipments of LNG, 70,000 tonnes of fertilizer, and 50,000 tonnes of non-Basmati boiled rice, aimed at meeting the country's growing demand.
With these measures in place, Dr. Salehuddin emphasized that essential economic functions would continue, ensuring the nation remains economically active even during the festive period.
