Dhaka, 01 June 2021– A new up-to-date training centre for construction and erection specialists has been commissioned at Rooppur NPP, which is being built in Bangladesh with the assistance of the Russian Federation (general contractor - JSC Atomstroyexport, a company of Rosatom State Corporation Engineering Division).
The training centre has been built with the assistance of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC), SRO SOYUZATOMSTROY for providing JSC ASE, the general contractor, and subcontractors with qualified construction and erection specialists and for continuous improvement of skills.
“The citizens of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh who have been recruited in subcontractor organizations and who have successfully passed the probation period, who have demonstrated their potential and drive towards professional growth, will now have a unique possibility to master a new profession or improve their skills”, said Alexey Deriy, Vice President - Director of Rooppur NPP construction project.
Until now, a mobile training centre was used for organizing continuous teaching construction professions at the Roopur construction site.
After commissioning of the Training Center, citizens of Bangladesh will undergo training in specialized classes and production shops with the most up-to-date equipment. The production shops have areas for teaching general construction works, electrical welding, installation of process equipment and pipelines, air ducts and ventilation equipment and electrical installation works.
Over 7000 specialists of Bangladesh will be able to undergo training and improve their skills during one calendar year.
The tasks solved by the Training Center will in the future go far beyond Rooppur NPP construction site. After completion of works at Rooppur NPP construction site, the highly qualified Bangladeshi specialists who have been trained in the Center and have received valuable experience of work under the project will be in high demand in all the industries of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, and primarily in industrial and civil construction. Their professionalism will contribute to further growth of the state economy.
The construction of the training center with the area of 1500 square meters is performed by Capital Construction Unit of the Engineering Division (JSC ASE) under the instruction of A.E. Likhachev, Director General of Rosatom State Corporation.
This is the first project of this type implemented by the Engineering Division.  It will be duplicated at other NPP construction sites, including El-Dabaa NPP and Paks-II NPP, in accordance with the program of training center development approved by A.M. Lokshin, First Deputy Director General of Rosatom State Corporation. – Press release
