EC to publish final list of polling centres on Aug 27
The Election Commission (EC) will publish the final list of polling centres on August 27 for the upcoming local body elections to city corporations, municipalities, union parishads and upazila parishads.
The information was revealed in a letter sent to district election officers signed by EC Senior Assistant Secretary (Election Support-3) Md Rashid Mia.
According to the letter, the EC has instructed the authorities concerned to prepare the final list of polling centres after publishing the draft list, receiving claims and objections, and disposing of those in accordance with the existing guidelines.
The commission has fixed August 10 for publication of the draft list of polling centres, while the deadline for submitting claims and objections has been set for August 18.
The EC will dispose of all claims and objections by August 23 before publishing the final list of polling centres on August 27.
The letter also asked the authorities concerned to complete all necessary activities in line with the schedule and the Polling Centre Establishment Guidelines and send the final list to the Election Support-3 Wing through the respective regional election officers, reports BSS.
