The Election Commission (EC) will release the draft of the updated voter list on Sunday in preparation for the upcoming 13th National Parliament election.

EC Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed told reporters that the draft will include approximately 4.45 million voters who were previously excluded, while removing names of deceased individuals. He also confirmed that the disposal of claims and objections will be completed by August 31.

Earlier, on August 4, the EC had announced the publication date of August 10 for the draft voter list. Following necessary corrections and updates, the final voter list is scheduled to be published on August 31.

According to the announcement, the draft supplementary voter list will cover those registered in the voter database up to June 30, 2025, who were born on or before January 1, 2007. It will also include a list of deceased voters to be deleted.

After the draft publication, applications for adding eligible names, deleting names due to death or ineligibility, voter transfers, and error corrections can be submitted until August 21. The final updated voter list, incorporating all revisions, will be published on August 31.

Previously, on July 21, Akhtar Ahmed revealed that 4.466 million new voters had been added to the list in this cycle.
