US Senator Chris Van Hollen has criticised oil companies for profiting off the US-led war on Iran while Americans have paid the rising fuel cost.

“Since Trump started this illegal & senseless war in Iran, his buddies in Big Oil have made $130 BILLION in profit while American households have paid over $1,100 in extra fuel costs,” Van Hollen said on X.

He added that US oil companies are “literally profiting off working people’s pain”.

“To save lives & lower costs, this war must end,” the US senator said.

The war on Iran has nearly tripled oil industry profits.
